Opt-out refers to a list subscriber that no longer wants to be on a list (unsubscribe). CAN SPAM requires that every email sent from an email list must have a link or a mechanism for the recipient to be removed from the list. BombBomb fully supports this requirement. To see the unsubscribe link, scroll to the bottom of any email sent from the BombBomb system.

There are 2 ways to see if a contact has opt-ed out of your list:

  1. Opt out contacts will appear on the Suppression list. Open the Suppression list by selecting the "view suppression list" link from the List tab. Search for the email in question. If the email address has a list name next to it, then the contact has opt-ed out of that list. If the email addresses does not have a list name to the right, then the contact has opt-ed out of all lists.
  2. From the List tab, select the "view all contacts" link. Then select the Spreadsheet icon spreadsheet icon.bmp. This will download a report of all contacts in the system. Use a spreadsheet program, like Excel, to view the report. The CTRL-F key is a shortcut to find something, do a CTRL-F and type in the email address you are looking for. Once you find it, look for the Opt-out column. Y = Yes, this contact has opt-ed out. There is an adjacent column in the report that will give the opt-out date as well.
