Below is a list of some of the most common questions we hear from our customers and is a great place to start looking for guidance! Click on the question to see the answer.
What is BombBomb?
Relationships are what we do, and we strive to help you win more opportunities to succeed! BombBomb is a video email marketing platform that helps you build relationships through video. By using our application, you can send video to your connections from virtually anywhere: through email, text, or social media — letting you reach anyone at any time.
Whether you're looking to convert leads, boost engagement, increase clicks, or just let someone know you were thinking about them, BombBomb lets you say it through video.
What are the minimum system or mobile requirements needed to use BombBomb?
One of our primary goals here at BombBomb is to ensure a seamless, easy experience for you and your recipients. We want it to be easy for you to build and strengthen relationships with simple videos through email, social, and mobile. So, we support the latest in technological releases. Remember, this doesn't mean other versions won't work; in many cases it probably will, but we just can't guarantee it.
Mobile operating systems:
Also, we really like Google Chrome. A lot. While we support the browsers listed above, you will likely have the best BombBomb experience using Chrome. Plus, we have a pretty rad Chrome extension, and we think you will love it. If you haven't already, go install it now!
How many contacts can I send emails/videos to?
The number of contacts you can send emails and videos to depends on your subscription. If you’d like to look at the subscription types we offer and what features you’d get with your subscription, you can check them out here.
If you already have a subscription but need to add just a few more contacts, don't worry! You can purchase contact "buckets." Each bucket allows for 500 more contacts at an annual price of just $85. To purchase a bucket, go to the “Add-Ons” section of your account and click "Add More Contacts."
Why are my emails being quarantined?
If you get a notification saying that an email of yours has been quarantined, it’s probably because you tried to send an email more than once to the same list.
Placing your email in quarantine is a preventative measure to help you avoid accidentally sending the same email multiple times to the same people. Doing this is against what we encourage here at BombBomb, and it is a poor emailing practice.
Once an email has been put in quarantine, our Deliverability team will review your account to review what happened and find a way to prevent it from happening again.
What is "sending reputation?"
In the email marketing world, everyone has what is called a “sending reputation.” Your sending reputation is what determines whether or not your emails actually make it to an inbox. Good sending reputation = good inbox placement, and bad sending reputation = poor inbox placement.
You can keep your sending reputation high and squeaky clean by sending to contacts who have agreed to receive emails from you. These tips are also super helpful in avoiding the dreaded spam filter.
Who can I send emails and videos to?
You can send videos to anyone who has given you express consent to do so. This means that you can send emails and videos to anyone who has opted into your marketing communications or anyone who will be expecting an email from you.
At BombBomb, we support “permission-based email,” which is when an individual gives someone permission to send them an email. Any type of sending practice outside of this category can result in heightened abuse complaints or bounce rates, which can ruin your sending reputation. Yuck.
What is the maximum bounce rate and the abuse complaint rate for my account?
The maximum bounce rate acceptable is 10%, and the maximum abuse complaint rate is 0.1% — any numbers higher than these and your account will be placed on hold.
We are passionately anti-spam and believe that any contact you send to should be expecting your email. Let’s be real — no one enjoys receiving spam emails! Read this article to learn more about what exactly spam/abuse is, or look at this article to learn what the bounce codes from your email sends actually mean.
What is a "suppression list?"
The suppression list is a list of people that is automatically tracked in your BombBomb account. The suppression list protects both of us: it guards your sending reputation and our sending reputation as a company. This list prevents you from sending emails repeatedly to suppressed contacts.
People can end up on your suppression list, or become “suppressed,” if they have an invalid email address, reported your email as abuse, or unsubscribed from your emails. You can also add people manually. To learn more about the importance of the suppression list, read this article.
My account has been put on hold. What happened?
If you received a notification that your account has been placed on hold, it could be for several reasons. When our Deliverability team notices some potentially damaging statistics from your recent sends, your account is placed on a quick hold so they can examine what happened and work with you to prevent it from happening again.
Too many spam complaints or high bounce rates can make this happen. These numbers need to be kept low to protect your sending reputation, as well as our servers.
What does “verified for sending” mean and how do I get verified?
Here at BombBomb, we make it a priority to get your emails delivered, but at the same time we need to ensure we are proactive in guarding against email spam and junk lists.
We require verification for large sends in order to combat potential reputation damage. To be “verified for sending” means that you are approved to send to over 500 contacts at a time.
In order to be verified for sending, go ahead and send an email to email@example.com letting our Deliverability team know you’d like to send to a large list and how exactly your contacts signed up or subscribed to receive your mailings. The more details you can provide, the faster your approval will be!
What does "Reached Contact Limit" mean?
Don’t panic. If you see a message that says "You have reached your contact limit," it just means that you’ve gone over your contact limit assigned to your subscription.
Check out this article to see how you can up your contact limit or upgrade your subscription to get more sends out of your account.
