If you'd prefer to read, here's a step by step:
The BombBomb mobile app allows you to take some of the functionality from the Quick Send on the desktop application and apply it to your mobile device so you can send videos on the go. To access the app, go to the Google Play store and type "BombBomb" in the search bar and download the app.
Once you've downloaded the app, open it and log in with your BombBomb credentials. If you forgot your password, you can use the "Forgot Password?" link.
Once logged in, you will first be shown all of the one-to-one tracking for your most recent email sends from each platform - the BombBomb Chrome extension, the desktop application, or the mobile app. At the top of the screen, you'll see a search bar that allows you to search for any past emails you've sent by the recipient, subject line, etc.
The three icons underneath each email show you the last time someone has engaged with your email. The envelope icon shows the last time the email was opened, the play button icon shows the last time a video in the email was played, and the arrow icon shows the last time a link was clicked inside the email. Each icon will be highlighted in color and have a timestamp underneath if there has been activity; otherwise, the icon will be grayed out.
In the upper right corner, you will see three vertical dots. Select this icon to access different pages of the app.
Once you select the icon, you'll see you have three different options. For the first, you can add or edit a contact. Select this option if you'd like to add a contact to your account or edit the information for a preexisting contact.
You can enter a contact's personal information, such as email address, first name, last name, and much more. Once you're finished filling out the information for your contact, select the "Save" button
For the second option, you can access the settings page. Select "Settings" to change your preferences for your app.
From the settings page, you have several things you can do here. The first thing you'll see are the recording options. One thing you can do is change your video recording options. You can tap the orange selection to change if you'd like to record in "Faster Upload" or "Higher Quality" mode. We highly recommend the "Faster Upload" mode unless you have strong wifi or a very robust mobile device.
Another thing you can do is change the preferred prompt when opening up the video recorder. You can decide whether you'd like to be asked to record a brand new video or to select a video from your gallery, only asked to select a video from your gallery, or only asked to record a brand new video.
One important thing you will want to check out is the camera selection for your app. Some phone brands and models interact differently than expected with different camera selections, so if you're experiencing strange issues with recording videos, it's most likely because you don't have the proper camera selected. You'll want to tap the orange selection here to choose which camera you'd like to use for video recording.
Here, you can select whichever camera you'd like for your video recording. We recommend the "Legacy" camera because it is the most reliable across a majority of phone brands and models. However, you can test each option to see which camera works best for your phone.
At the bottom, you can manage some other functions. Check these checkboxes depending on if you want to save a video to your phone right after recording, clear notification after video upload, or create a multipart video when rotating your phone. We do recommend selecting the option to save a video to your phone after upload in case you experience a network interruption. You can also manage your notifications.
To Once you're finished making changes, you can either select "Save" in the upper right corner to save your changes, or select "Back" in the upper left corner to avoid saving over anything.
At the bottom of the home screen, you'll see three different icons. On the bottom left, the envelope icon is where you can access all of your previously created BombBomb emails and send them out.
All of your emails will be shown from most to least recent of being sent. Your emails are also searchable and you can search by recipient, subject line, etc.
On the bottom right, the play button icon is where you can access your video library, which contains all of your videos that you've made in BombBomb. There is also an "Upload" button where you can upload videos from your phone into your BombBomb account, as well as an option to delete a video.
To delete a video, just hold your finger down on the video you'd like to erase. On the pop-up that appears, select "Yes, Delete" and the video will be deleted from your BombBomb library.
If you'd like to send a video from your library, just select the video. From the next screen, you'll be able to re-name the video if you'd like or play it back. Once you'd like to send it, hit "Next" in the upper right corner.
The app will then ask you what you want to do next with the video, and you have a few options. Selecting "Email" will insert the video into a brand new email so you can send it. Selecting "Track" will show you the video's tracking details. If you select "Text" or "Social" then you can actually pick where to share it on your phone.
Once you select "Text" or "Social," your phone will bring up a number of apps that you can share this video with.
Back at the home screen, the red button in the middle is obviously the recording button - select this whenever you're ready to record a video.
This will bring up the recorder. If this is your first time recording, you may be prompted to allow BombBomb permissions to access your microphone and camera. To start and stop recording, tap the red record button at the bottom of the screen.
Once you stop recording, you will be taken to the next page where you can input details of your video. At the top, you can name your video in the "Video Title" field. In the bottom left, you can select "Re-record" to record your video over. In the bottom center, you can hit the play button to play back your video. In the bottom right, you can snap a thumbnail picture for your video. (If you do this, it will override the animated .gif that typically appears for your video.) Once you're satisfied with your video, select "Next" in the upper right corner.
On the next page, you'll see the video start encoding and uploading. This is to make sure that that the video file is uploaded to our servers and copied enough so many people can view your video without interruptions. To email your video, select the "Email" option.
You'll be taken to the email screen where you can enter your recipients, subject line, and message. In the recipient line, type in the name of a contact you want to send to and then hit "Enter" or "Return" on your keyboard. If you have already sent to them, their email will auto-populate. Once you hit "Enter" or "Return," the email address will turn into a yellow color, which signifies it has been validated. If you hit the plus sign, you can also see a list of your BombBomb contacts and choose a contact or list from there.
You can also change the template of the email that you're sending. At the bottom of the email, select the eyeball icon. You will then be able to select a template from your template library from the scrollable template carousel at the bottom of the page.
You can fill out the subject line and message. Once you fill out everything you need to and you're content with your email, select "Send" in the upper right corner to send your email.
