Having a solid list of contacts to engage with is great and all, but it can get really overwhelming when your lists and contacts start getting out of control. When those two things start to become jumbled, typical processes that were once easy can get really difficult...really fast.
Well, enough of that mess. Let's clean things up! In this video, we'll show you how to create new lists, how to delete lists or contacts, and how to move your contacts around to other lists.
Check it out to get started on organizing everything in your Contacts tab to keep things simple!
If you'd prefer to read, here's a step by step:
We're all about building relationships here at BombBomb, and it's a lot easier to do that when you're organized with your lists and contacts. To start, log into your account and head over to the Contacts tab.
The first thing you'll see on the Contacts tab is the relationship score scale. The more engagement that occurs between you and one of your contacts, the better your relationship score with them. You can see the relationship score next to whole lists and individual contacts.
Under this, there is a search bar where you can search for your contacts by first name, last name, email address, or anything that you've included in a contact's information when adding them.
On the left side, you'll see your lists. The first one, called "All Contacts," is a full accumulation of all the contacts you've both sent to and uploaded into BombBomb including from the desktop application, mobile, the Quick Send, and even the extension for Gmail.
The contacts in the "Gmail Recipients" and the "Suppression List" lists are not counted in the number of contacts you get in your subscription unless you've sent to those people through BombBomb. The "Gmail Recipients" list grabs every contact you've sent to through the Gmail extension, and the suppression list is a list of people you don't want to send to because they've opted out of receiving your emails.
To make a new list, click in the empty "New List Name" field and type in a name for your list. Click the "Create List" button (or press enter) and your list will be added.
Once you create a new list, you will be taken straight to the list in case you'd like to go ahead and upload contacts. To change the name of a list, click in the field where the list name is, change the list name, then hit the enter key.
To export a list, click the gear wheel icon next to the list name and select "Export." When you do, BombBomb will email you a .csv file of all the contacts you have in that list.
In the gear wheel icon, you have some more options. You can copy your contacts over to another list by clicking "Copy."
When you click "Copy," you'll have the option of copying those contacts to an existing list or copying them to a new list, which you can create right there from the pop-up.
Also from the gear wheel icon, you can delete a list. Just click the icon and select "Delete." This prompts you to type "DELETE" in all capitals in order to complete the task. This is an extra cautionary measure because once a list is deleted, it cannot be retrieved again. This option also deletes the contacts within that list from your account.
If you'd like to manage each contact individually, you can click the checkbox next to a contact's name. When you do this, three options appear at the top of the list; you can segment the selected contact and copy them to another list, you can delete the selected contact, or you can suppress the selected contact.
If you choose to delete the contact, you'll have the option of deleting the contact from that list or deleting the contact from your account entirely.
Segmenting a contact allows you to move a contact to another list. Just click the "Segment Selected" button and you can choose which list you'd like to move the contact over to.
Your last option is to suppress a contact. Only suppress a contact if you know for a fact that you do not want to send them any emails.
When you are in any of your contact lists and you select the checkbox to select all, this selects the first 100 contacts on the list. However, if you have more than 100 contacts in a list, there is an option that appears where you can select all of the contacts on the list.
If you'd like to select more than the first 100 contacts in a list but less than the list in its entirety, you can show more contacts on the page to select. Scroll down to the bottom of your list and click the "Load More..." button and an additional 100 contacts will be loaded on the page. You can do this as many times as you need.
