The BombBomb Gmail integration is a connection between BombBomb and Gmail that allows BombBomb to use Gmail servers to send your emails and allows you to sync your Gmail contacts with BombBomb.
Gmail servers are more familiar to your computer and settings, making it a better platform for email sending, instead of introducing BombBomb servers into the mix. Since you'll be sending from a familiar server, it improves your deliverability status and your emails are less likely to end up in anyone's junk mail.

Read these step-by-step instructions to set up the Gmail integration!
Step 1: Hover over your name in the top right corner and select "Integrations."
Step 2: Search for "Gmail" in the Search bar or scroll through our integrations and find Gmail. Click on the Gmail icon.
Step 3: You'll be given a description of the integration. Click the "Connect" button underneath the Setup section.
Step 4: Verify which Gmail account you would like to connect. Make sure the email address you use for BombBomb is the same one as your Gmail address so the two accounts can associate when connecting.
Step 5: Next, you will see a number of permissions necessary to allow BombBomb and Google access to one another. Click "Allow" at the bottom of the pop-up. (Learn why these permissions are necessary.)
Step 6: Next, you just need to sync your contacts. Head to your Contacts tab. On the bottom right of your screen, click "Sync from Gmail." This will bring up a pop-up where you can select which lists you'd like to sync.
Once you click "Save my Selections," you'll see your lists on the left side of your Contacts tab. Not wanting to constantly sync your lists over with updated contacts? No problem — when you send an email to a contact list, it will automatically re-sync and update itself.

Just an FYI for Follow Up Boss users. If you send a BB email from inside BB (instead of from your FUB dashboard) the email will not be recorded in your FUB record (unless you CC yourself). Which of course you can't do if sending a mass email. If you send from MailChimp, on the other hand, it will be recorded in your client record. I've asked FUB about this and here is their response:
"The MailChimp integration was built by us and we use their API to pull in sent emails onto the leads profile. BombBomb built the integration that pulls our leads into their DB and would need to use our API to send the emails sent back (100% possible to do)."
So, BombBomb, please make note of this for future adjustments.

does the gmail integration cost $?
My integration on Gmail accounts were working just fine using Chrome.
For personal reasons, I switched browser to MS Edge. Now I don't see the BombBomb icon on my Gmail. I tried, disconnecting and reconnecting, still not there. What do I need to do please?

Thank you for your question! It sounds like you are referring to the Bombbomb Chrome Extension. which puts the power of Bombbomb into your Gmail account. This is only available through the Chrome browser at this time and is why you aren't seeing when you open up MS Edge.

I am worried that Bombbomb can delete contacts

In contrast, we are not able to delete contacts from your Gmail account.

I followed the steps to enable the integration with gmail to be able to track opens and clicks, however, I am not seeing any integration actually happening. Do I need to do something in Gmail itself?

Thank you for your email and for reaching out. As long as your BombBomb login email matches your Gmail login address, this will give you the ability to sync over your Google Contacts.
If you are trying to get the ability to record, send, and track video through Gmail, you will want to install the BombBomb Chrome Extension to your Chrome Browser.

How do I remove the BombBomb integration from my Gmail. It interferes with the visibility of the side bar of my inbox and folders, and it makes it often hard to see them at all?

Thank you for your comment and question. At this time there is not a way to hide or shrink those icons, but you do have the ability to drag down the section lower, just below where it says "Starred" in your image.
If you hover over that line, you should be able to show more of your folder options.
Additionally, it sometimes helps to Zoom Out on your screen in order to see more on that left hand panel.
