When you send your videos, BombBomb takes the first three seconds of your video and creates an animated .gif that is played on a constant loop inside your email. This animation, as opposed to a static play button symbol or something similar, has shown to result in a 50% higher engagement rate with emails containing videos. Yes, folks, you read that right - 50%!
But what if the animated .gif doesn't look quite right? What if you have a brand image or a company logo you'd prefer to be visible instead? Or, to make things interesting, what if there's a frame in your video that you'd like to have as your thumbnail? The answer: you can change your own video thumbnail, and it's super easy to do.
Watch the video above to learn how to easily change the thumbnail on your video to any image you'd like!
If you prefer to read, here's a step by step:
To change your thumbnail, head to the Videos tab and then click the "Edit" button next to whichever video you'd like to change the thumbnail for.
This will take you to your video settings. If you'd like to disable the animated preview, click the "Disable Animated Preview" button underneath the Animated Preview section (this action can also be undone if you'd like your animated preview back). The first way to change your thumbnail is to choose a frame from your very own video. To do this, hover over your video and you'll see a play button appear. Click the play button to begin the video.
When you get to the frame that you want to save for your video's thumbnail, click the "Thumb" button on the right. This will capture the frame in motion and use it as your new thumbnail. Or, if you'd prefer, you can click one of the green arrows underneath the video to jump to different frames from which you can choose a thumbnail. Once you're finished choosing your thumbnail from your video, click the "Save" button in the upper right to save your thumbnail.
The second way to change your thumbnail is to upload a JPEG image. If the image you have isn't in JPEG format, you can Google a JPEG converter and convert your image that way. To upload an image, click the "Upload New Thumbnail" button underneath the video on the video settings page.
Select the JPEG file you'd like to upload as your thumbnail and click "Open." After a moment, you'll see that the image on your video is now the thumbnail image you chose from your files. Once you're finished, always remember to click the "Save" button in the upper right corner.
