The first step with Vist is to decide which automated emails you want to incorporate a video into. Once these are decided then you will have to:
- Create your Vist events
- Create folders to group your events in
- Insert videos into your automated emails.
We will cover all of those topics in this article. Watch this video or if you prefer step-by-step instructions, continue to scroll down:
Creating Vist Events
Step 1: Navigate to the “Teams” tab.
Step 2: Under the “Content” section you will see “Vist”
Step 3: Select “New Event”
Step 4: Fill out the sections under the “Basics” “Video” and “Resources” tabs.
Step 5: The option to “Save Draft” will appear after you fill in the “Event Name” field under “Basics” so you can come back and publish later.
Step 6: Fill in the “Public Video Title”
Consider locking it in place so your team’s videos have a consistent title when being viewed by recipients.
* The title will default to the date the video is recorded if no video title is in place.
Step 7: You have the option to upload an “Embedded Video” that would go out for your team member if they do not record a personalized video for that Vist video assignment.
Step 8: The “Resources” tab is where you can upload an example video for your team to reference for that video assignment.
You can choose any video from your BombBomb video library and update this resource at any time.
Step 9: “Save & Publish” your event once all of your event fields are complete including your “Suggested Script” with talking points to help guide your team on what to say in the video.
Creating Folders and Grouping Events
Step 1: Click the “Add a Folder” icon
Step 2: Title your folder and select Enter/Return to save your folder.
Step 3: Select the “^” icon to open your folder and select “Add an Event” to create a new event within a folder.
Step 4: Select “Edit” on any event outside of a folder to add to or remove the event in a folder.
Inserting Videos into your Automated Emails
After your events are published you are ready to copy the dynamic link into your automated emails.
Step 1: Select the “Copy for” button next to the Vist video event you want to automatically pull in for that email.
Step 2: In the Edit mode of your automated email composer you will paste in the code for the Vist event. You will see a placeholder video box that will allow you to format your email for the video.
After a video is recorded for a Vist event, you will be able to see the video while in Preview mode while in an account that is connected to the automated email sequence.
If you are not using an embedded video, ensure that your email is written to make sense with or without a video as it will be up to your team to record content.
Step 3: Test with a few members of your team to ensure you fully understand how the dynamic link will pull in videos recorded from your team.
