This guide will help you define, create, and maximize reports in Salesforce to track BombBomb email engagement, utilizing the Opportunity Tracking feature effectively.
Updating your Salesforce Integration
Setting Up Reporting
Enable Task Creation for BombBomb Events
Step 1: Log in to Salesforce.
Step 2: Navigate to Settings by clicking the gear icon (⚙️) in the upper right corner. Select Setup from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: In the Quick Find box, type Custom Settings. Click on BombBomb Settings. Click Manage.
Step 4: Ensure Task Creation is Enabled by looking for the setting labeled Create Tasks for BB Events. Make sure this option is checked to allow tasks related to BombBomb events to appear in opportunity records.
Step 5: Use the Events object in Salesforce to filter for BombBomb Events
Sending Emails from the Opportunity Page
Step 1: Open the Opportunity Record and navigate to the Opportunities tab to select the relevant opportunity.
Step 2: Within the opportunity record, use the BombBomb Email Composer to send your video email to contacts associated with that opportunity.
Setting Up Campaigns
Step 1: Go to the Campaigns tab and create a New Campaign specifically for tracking BombBomb video outreach.
Step 2: Ensure sales reps add contacts to this campaign as they use BombBomb to send videos.
Updating your Salesforce Integration
The current version of BombBomb's integration with Salesforce is 1.18.
Step 1: Log in to your Salesforce account.
Step 2: Navigate to the AppExchange.
Step 3: Search for BombBomb.
Step 4: Upgrade: If you have an older version you will see the word "Upgrade."
Creating Reports
Define your Objectives
Determine what you want to measure, such as the impact of video usage on conversion rates, time to close, and overall sales performance.
Out-of-the-box BombBomb Reports
Our Integration comes with 6 out-of-the-box reports.
1. BombBomb Events by User, Last 7 Days: Shows the BombBomb events sent by each user over the last week.
2. BombBomb Events by User, Last 14 Days: Shows the BombBomb events sent by each user over the last two weeks.
3. BombBomb Events by User, Last 30 Days : Shows the BombBomb events sent by each user over the last two month.
4. Contacts with BombBomb Events, Month to Date: This report lists all contacts that have interacted with BombBomb videos for the current month.
5. Current FQ Closed Won with BombBomb Events : Shows all closed-won opportunities in the current fiscal quarter that have associated BombBomb events.
6. Open Opportunities with BombBomb Events, Last 7 Days: This report identifies open opportunities that have had BombBomb events in the past week.
Creating a Basic Report on BombBomb Engagement
Step 1: Click on the Reports tab in Salesforce.
Step 2: Click the New Report button.
Step 3: Choose Tasks and Events as the report type to pull data related to BombBomb tasks.
Step 4: Use Filters and Columns to configure your report:

Filters: Set filters to show tasks related to BombBomb events, specifying date ranges or opportunity stages (e.g., “Closed Won” or “Closed Lost”)
- Example: “Type = BombBomb Event” and “Opportunity Stage = Closed Won” or “Closed Lost.”
- Columns: Add relevant columns such as Subject, Due Date, and Related To (Opportunity).

Step 5: Event Type Calculation (Optional):
Add a formula field to categorize event types based on the subject using the formula:

Step 6: Group the report by Opportunity Stage to see how many BombBomb events correspond to each stage.
Step 7: Click Run Report to view the data, adjusting filters and columns as needed.
Creating Advanced Reports
Step 1: Click New Report in the Reports tab to create a new report.
Step 2: Choose Tasks and Events or Opportunities for broader metrics.
Step 3: Use filters to narrow down to specific criteria such as:

- Date Range for tracking specific time frames.
Step 4: Use the grouping feature to categorize data by opportunity or event type. Add summary fields to calculate totals or averages for better insights, such as:

- Total number of opportunities with and without BombBomb events
Step 5: Click Save & Run to keep your report for future reference.
Step 6: Share the report with your team by selecting the Share option and adjusting permissions.
Utilizing Custom Fields (if applicable)
Create Custom Fields for More Data: Navigate to Setup > Object Manager, select the relevant object (e.g., Tasks) and click Fields & Relationships to add custom fields as needed.
Include Custom Fields in Reports: When creating or editing reports, include these custom fields in your report setup.
Maximizing Reports
Analyze the Data
Compare Outcomes: Look at the data to compare the number of BombBomb events for closed-won vs. closed-lost opportunities and average number of events per opportunity type (e.g., new leads vs. existing accounts).
Visualize Findings
Create Dashboards: Use the report data to create a dashboard that visually represents key metrics and findings.
Add Charts: Include charts that show comparisons, such as the success rates of campaigns that used video versus those that did not.
Share Insights
Distribute Reports: Share the reports and dashboards with relevant stakeholders, such as sales teams and management.
Provide Context: Include a brief analysis of what the data indicates regarding the effectiveness of BombBomb videos in the sales process.
