If you’re having trouble recording video in BombBomb, it’s often due to your computer's camera permissions. This article walks you through how to check and update camera access settings on both Mac and Windows devices to get you recording again quickly.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Check Camera Access in BombBomb

1. Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome is recommended).
2. Open Google Chrome.
3. Go to BombBomb.
4. Click the "view site information" next to the URL in the address bar.
5. In the dropdown menu, find the “Camera” and “Microphone” options.
6. Set Both to “Always Allow.”
7. Close the Dropdown Menu after setting the permissions.
8. Click the Refresh Button in the browser or press Ctrl + R (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac) to reload the page.
9. Test your Camera and Microphone by starting a new video in BombBomb to ensure permissions are correctly applied.

Check Camera and Microphone device settings in Chrome Settings

1. Open Google Chrome.

2. Click the Three Dots Menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the browser window.

3. Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

4. In the left-hand menu, click "Privacy and security."

5. Under Privacy and security, click on "Site settings."

6. Scroll down to the Permissions section.

7. Click on "Camera."

8. Select desired Camera device

9. Click the back arrow or go back to the "Site settings" page.

10. Click on "Microphone."

11. Select desired Microphone device

12. Close the Settings tab.

13. Return to your BombBomb tab and refresh the page (Ctrl + R on Windows or Cmd + R on Mac).

2. Update Camera and Microphone Permissions on a Mac (macOS)

1. 1. Open System Settings
      Click the Apple menu in the top left and select System Settings...

   2. In the sidebar, scroll down and click Privacy & Security.

   3. Under Privacy, select Camera.

   4. In the list of apps, toggle Google Chrome and BombBomb Screen Recorder to On to grant camera access.

   5. Return to the Privacy section and select Microphone.

   6. Toggle Google Chrome to On to grant microphone access.

   7. Still under Privacy, select Screen & System Audio Recording.

   8. Toggle Google Chrome & BombBomb Screen Recorder to On to allow screen recording.

🗣️ Note: You may need to restart the browser for changes to take effect.

3. Update Camera Permissions on Windows

1.  Open Settings
2. Navigate to Privacy Settings:
   In Windows 10: Go to Privacy > Camera
   In Windows 11: Go to Privacy & security > Camera
3. Enable Camera Access:
4. Ensure the toggle for Camera access is turned On.​
5. Allow Apps to Access Camera:
6. Toggle Allow apps to access your camera to On.​
7. Manage App Permissions: Under Choose which apps can access your camera, turn On or Off the toggle for each app as desired.
   
8. Ensure no other apps are open and using your camera
