BombBomb's real-time tracking helps you see who has watched your videos and when they've watched them — helping you determine when to follow up with your most engaged contacts. But did you know that you can also receive notifications of what percentage of a video your viewer watched?
Knowing how much of a video someone watched can help you strategize how to best follow up with your recipients so they can have a relevant and personable experience.
How do I turn on "Video Watched Notifications"?
1. Access Settings
- Click on your name in the top right corner of your account.
- Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
2. Select Account Settings
- In the left sidebar, click on "Settings" within the "Account Settings" menu.
3. Enable Video Watched Notifications
- On your settings page, toggle on the "Video Watched Notification."
Important Notes
- These notifications will replace the "real-time notification" emails (video plays) enabled through your BombBomb settings in the Quick Send and email composer.
- This feature is available for all BombBomb subscribers, whether you are part of a team or an individual user.
- Once activated, this setting will apply to all BombBomb videos sent during your subscription.
How do you calculate the percentage viewed?
BombBomb calculates the percentage viewed based on the following criteria:
- If a recipient starts watching a video and pauses, BombBomb waits 20 minutes after the "play" button is hit before determining the percentage watched. This allows recipients time to return and finish watching the video.
- If the video isn’t fully watched within the 20 minutes, BombBomb will still send a notification at that mark.
- For more detailed tracking information, you can click the "View Video Results" button to access the tracking page.
Why does it say "someone" viewed the video?
When you see "someone" viewed your video, it typically indicates:
- If you send an email to multiple recipients via Gmail or Outlook, or share a video via URL or embed code, BombBomb cannot access the viewer's identity. Therefore, your notification will state that "someone" watched your video.
- You will still receive an email notification and the percentage of the video that was watched.
Note
- If you send an email to multiple recipients through the BombBomb application, it will identify the specific recipients who viewed your video.
