Having a call-to-action is an important part of any email. If you want to make your call-to-action as clear as possible, add a button to your email.
Watch this video or read the instructions below to learn how to add and format a button in your email!
Adding a button: Navigate to the Layout tab in your left panel. Drag and drop the "Button" element in your email. Areas where you can drop the button will turn teal as you hover over them.
Formatting your button
The Button Settings will open in the left panel. (Or to open the Button Settings, simply click on the button.) You can edit your button in a variety of ways here.
Edit your button text in the Button Text field. You can also change the look of this text by using the bold and underline buttons, the font dropdown, or adjusting the font size. Change the color of your text by clicking on the color box next to Font.
To add a website for your button to link to, ensure "Link Type" is set to "Url," and paste the website address in the "URL" field. The "Target" field will determine if your button opens in a new window or in the same window.
To link your button to a file to download, change your link type to "File." This will open any files you've previously added to BombBomb. You can either click "Choose" next the file you'd like to attach, or you can upload a file by clicking "Add New File." When your recipients click your button, it will bring them to a web page with a preview of your file, where they can download it.
(Legacy users of BombBomb can also choose to link your button to a Form by changing the link type to "Form.")
You can also link to your website using variables, so that if your website ever changes, your button will stay up-to-date. To do this, select "Variable" as the link type. Then change the "General" dropdown to "Profile," and click on Website.
You can also use Button Settings to edit the look of your button.
To change your button's color, click the color box next to "Background." You can add HEX or RGBA numbers if you have a specific color you'd like, or you can click into the color you'd like with your cursor.
To change the size of your button, increase or decrease the padding size by editing the numbers surrounding the button. To add a border on your button, increase the number next to "Border." You can also change the border's color by clicking in the color box. To add rounded corners to your button, increase the corner radius.
To add space around your button, hover over your button element. You'll see a Gear icon for Row. Click on the Gear icon, and select "Row Settings."
In the left panel, adjust the numbers in Margin to add space around the button or to adjust it from side to side.
As always, remember to save your work!
