This feature is available for BombBomb Plus, Individual Plus, and all Team subscriptions.
Video messaging will help you build better, more trusting relationships. And if you’ve wanted to share video messages with your prospects or customers through BombBomb, but haven't been able to because of restrictions like ADA compliance — we have good news!
BombBomb videos generate closed captions and transcripts for every video you record so more people can benefit from the power of video. With BombBomb closed captions, your video messages are ADA-compliant, making video messaging inclusive for all individuals.
Our transcripts and closed captions also transcribe in a wide variety of languages. If your video is in a language other than English, don't worry, because we support 100+ languages. Here is a list if you want to see if your spoken language is supported.
Watch the quick video below or use one of the quick links to see how easy it is for individuals or team admins to set up video captions!
Enabling captions for individual members
Enabling captions for individual members
Step 1: To enable captions for your BombBomb videos, log in to your account, click on your name in the top right corner, and select "Settings."
Step 2: From the video page screen select "Settings" under "Account Settings" on the left menu.
Step 3: At the bottom of the Settings screen you'll see a section for "Closed Captioning." Slide the toggle next to "Auto-Generated Captions on Videos" to turn on captions.
Note: Once captions have been enabled, they will only generate for videos recorded after you turn them on. Videos with captions need to be a least 20 seconds long!
* Important Note: While BombBomb Video Captions and Transcripts generate automatically, they do not generate immediately. It can take up to fifteen minutes for the text to be transcribed.
When viewing your videos, your recipients will see the following:
Along with live captions that play throughout your video message, there are also transcriptions that your recipient can expand, allowing them to read everything you say in your video.
Not only will this feature aid compliance, but it will also allow your recipient to read what you're saying while you're saying it.
Note: BombBomb Video Captions will never default to the “On” setting for video recipients. Turning on captions gives your recipient the option to turn them on and off. This can be found in the bottom right corner of your video under the "cc" icon. Captions will only appear when the recipient plays the video. This will not generate on videos recorded before turning Captions on.

I love that captions are now available!! However, I wish it defaulted to showing the text with the option to turn it off. I dont think most people will know to "turn on" the captions via the button. I know I didn't! Also, is there a way to Train it to spell my name correctly?? LOL
Would love to be able to have the function before launching the screen recorder or video to toggle a switch that says captions on or off because it isn't needed for each person, instead of it being a master button if you know what I mean. Thank you :)
Hi Jonathan! Thank you so much for your input here, all of these are really great ideas. With captions still being new there are a lot of ideas being shared. We are taking your ideas into consideration. At this moment they are not on our road map but I have noted them for future feature requests!
Thank you so much, If you have additional questions please email support@bombbomb.com
I agree with Sara! It would be helpful to have the captioning appear automatically without having to turn it on. If the video began to play with he captioning in the email preview I feel we would have better engagement. Thank you!
I agree with Sara Dreyer, The Sold By Sara Team and Rich Strasser... I'd love to have the option to turn captions on by default. I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling so I'd also want the opportunity to edit my captions... I see that we can read the "Transcriptions". Can we, also, edit the "Transcriptions'? I'm hoping to start using BombBomb's closed captions option as soon as today but I won't use them unless I can edit them... Kevin Andrews? Paul Case? Amber Van? Let me know... Thanks!
I agree. CC should be defaulted on. I see many other videos these days that do that automatically.
Hi there, I am following up on Jonathan Bowen's inquiry from 8 months ago. Presently, is there a way to edit your transcription? Right off the bat, mine displays my first name incorrectly. It goes on to spell my company incorrectly as well.
Hey Aaron!
This is really great feedback! There is still not the option to edit the transcriptions but I have sent this to our product team. Thank you again for the ideas on making our platform better!
Is captioning only in English? Any possibility to have other languages? If you need a beta-tester for a french version, consider using me!
Hey Philippe,
Thanks for your inquiry! This is a great feature request and something I will pass on to our Product Team!
Any update on having the captions default to on? Our recipients don't know to turn on clicking "CC."
Hey Rob,
Our product team is aware of this request and looking into our ability to be able to offer this feature.
