Overview
The Contacts page is where you keep the people you send to in the new BombBomb. From one place you can see all of your contacts, check who won't receive your emails, organize contacts into lists, and keep track of how much of your contact limit you've used.
Who this applies to: All users
Plan requirement: Pro, Enterprise
Contacts isn't included on the Essentials plan.
How to Access Contacts
- Click Contacts in the left navigation.
The page opens on All Contacts. The left side of the page holds your contact limit, your contact views, and your lists. The right side shows the contacts in whichever view or list you've selected.
Understanding the Contacts Page
The left side of the Contacts page groups your contacts in a few different ways. Each item shows how many contacts it holds.
All Contacts
What it is: Every contact you own, including suppressed ones.
Above the table you'll see your total Contacts, how many are Suppressed, and — when you're over your contact limit — how many are Oversubscribed. Each contact's row shows its relationship strength (for example, Weak 0 pts). If a contact is suppressed, the row shows the reason instead, such as Invalid or Manually Suppressed.
All Suppressed
What it is: Contacts who won't receive your emails. A contact ends up here when they unsubscribe, when their address bounces or is invalid, or when you suppress them yourself.
Hover over the info icon next to the Suppressed count to see how many fall into each category:
- Invalid — the address failed validation, hard-bounced, or is on a blocked domain.
- Abused — the contact reported your email as spam.
- Manually Suppressed — contacts you suppressed yourself.
- Other — unsubscribes and opt-outs.
Suppressed contacts stay in your contacts and in any lists they belong to — they just don't receive your emails. They also don't count toward your contact limit.
Lists
What it is: Groups of contacts you create to organize who you send to — for example, past clients or a seminar's attendees.
Click + next to Lists to create one. A contact can belong to more than one list, and removing a contact from a list or deleting a whole list never deletes the contacts themselves.
Auto Lists
What it is: Lists synced from the BombBomb Gmail or Outlook extension. When you have them, they appear on the left under Auto Lists, named Gmail Extension or Outlook Extension.
Contacts that come from Auto Lists don't count toward your contact limit. You can't rename or delete an Auto List, and you can't delete its contacts.
Understanding Your Contact Limit
Your plan includes a set number of active contacts.
The card at the top left of the Contacts page shows how many contacts you have remaining and how many you've used. Hover over or click it to open Contact Limit and see how your count adds up.
What counts toward your limit
Contact Limit starts with your Total Contacts and subtracts the contacts that don't count:
- Suppressed — unsubscribed, bounced, and manually suppressed contacts.
- Oversubscribed — contacts over your plan's limit (shown only when you have any).
- Auto-Lists — contacts synced via the Gmail or Outlook extension.
What's left is Count Towards Limit — the number your plan's limit applies to.
What happens when you go over your limit
You can keep adding contacts after you reach your limit. Contacts over the limit are marked Oversubscribed: they stay in your contacts and lists, but they won't receive your emails.
Thinking about deleting a contact? Deleting a contact is permanent and also removes its email tracking data. If you just want to stop emailing someone, suppress them instead.
Your Contacts Are Yours
Contacts and lists belong to the user who adds them. Each user on your account has their own contacts, their own lists, and their own contact limit.
This means:
- Contacts and lists a teammate adds don't appear on your Contacts page.
- If you and a teammate both have the same email address, you each have a separate contact with its own details.
- Your contact limit counts only your contacts, not your teammates'.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why won't some of my contacts receive my emails? Contacts who are suppressed (unsubscribed, invalid, bounced, abused, or manually suppressed) or Oversubscribed don't receive your emails. Check All Suppressed and the Oversubscribed count above your contacts.
Do suppressed contacts count toward my contact limit? No. Suppressed contacts don't count, and neither do contacts synced from Auto Lists.
What does Oversubscribed mean? Your contacts are over your plan's limit, so the contacts over the limit won't receive your emails.
Can I still add contacts when I have 0 contacts remaining? Yes. The new contacts are saved, but contacts over your limit are Oversubscribed and won't receive your emails.
Can my teammates see my contacts? No — not even account admins. Contacts and lists belong to the user who adds them, and each user has their own contact limit.
If I delete a list, are its contacts deleted? No. Deleting a list removes only the list. The contacts stay in All Contacts and in any other lists they belong to.
Can I unsuppress a contact? Yes, if you suppressed them yourself. Open All Suppressed, click the ⋯ menu on the contact's row, and click Unsuppress. Contacts suppressed automatically — for example, Invalid addresses — can't be unsuppressed.
