Green Screen and Virtual Backgrounds
It would be awesome if we could have the option to upload photos of backgrounds that we would prefer to use in our videos rather than a wall that is busy, or unattractive and especially when creating a series of videos for a specific topic so that they all flow visually together. There are apps out there that allow you to change the background of videos so it would be really awesome if bombbomb would intregrate that into your software as well. You could have a few basic choices to use but even better to allow us to upload our own preferred background and have it replace the background that the video was shot in front of. Thanks!!!!

With the time that past since this original post, does BB have a virtual background yet? I've used Zoom for over a year in meetings that I've been invited to, but this week was the first time that I discovered the virtual background in Zoom. It is so easy to use! Are we there yet with BB?

Hi Keith, I was just looking in BB support docs for green screen an virtual background as I thought this would be awesome if BB could do this. I like the screen recorder or the quick send but would love the green screen capability and virtual background option. I am using Zoom for this now but would love to be able to use BB. I am having to create the video in Zoom with green screen and virtual background and then upload to BB. An extra step I which I didn't have to do. I would think this would be such a great feature for BB as we are working from home and I am making videos a priority with my REMAX Professionals clients. Thank you! Hoping that you can add this sooner than later in BB.

I couldn't agree more. I'm having to use Zoom, which is FREE, to upload to BombBomb which we PAY for, so I can send out videos with a background. That's crazy and BombBomb is making it sound like it's new and they might put this under development, at some point in time in the future. When will that be? When we chose to leave BombBomb for a platform which allows this feature? Time to start looking at other options...?

My client is looking for an easy to use video email, and bombbomb fit the bill. Once they found that there is no virtual background they closed out bombbomb in favor of dubb which does offer virtual background or screen blurring. Too bad - in today's environment video is the way to go and I would have advised many of my clients to use bombbomb except for this obvious and vital weakness. In the pandemic video email is huge for businesses, but no one wants their sales force appearing in their kitchens, living rooms, basements.. This isn't a nice to do - it's a change or get left behind by dubb and others. You have lost my clients as a platform.

Good morning!
Thank you for reaching out and for your feature request regarding a virtual background for the BombBomb Recorder. While we do not have any immediate plans to build this kind of function into our software, there is a software that gives you a virtual background, that does work in our BombBomb recorder.
There is a program called ChromaCam, and you can download a free version of their software on their website. To download, visit: https://www.chromacam.me/download/***
Once the program is downloaded to your computer, restart your computer, and open up the ChromaCam program. Once it is open, go into BombBomb to open the recorder. Once the recorder is open, click the Gear icon in the bottom right hand corner and select the ChromaCam camera option.
***It is possible that your device may not have hardware specs high enough for this program to run smoothly with our recorder. In some tests we did, there was a good amount of lag when using a Mac computer, so we do not guarantee it will work with every device. If that is the case, there is nothing we can do to fix it because it is due to the specs that ChromaCam needs in order to run smoothly.
We hope this option will work well for you, and we will continue to take the feedback regarding the desire for a virtual background in our software.
Thank you!
