How to Change a Video's Privacy Settings
- Go to Workspace in the left navigation.
- Click the thumbnail of the video you want to update.
- On the Preview & Privacy tab, find the Privacy section on the right side of the page.
- Click the edit icon (pencil) next to Privacy.
- In the Video Privacy modal, choose one of three options from the dropdown:
- Anyone with the link can view this video — the default. Anyone who has the share link or email link can watch it.
- Only the video creator can view this video — makes the video private to you only. No one else can view it, even with the link.
- Only those with the password can view this video — viewers must enter a password to watch. A password is generated automatically. You can copy it to share, use the eye icon to reveal it, or click the refresh icon to generate a new one.
- Click Save.
Using this video in a Campaign or Automated Workflow? Make sure the privacy setting allows external viewing — otherwise recipients won't be able to watch it.
How to Set a Video Expiration Date
You can set a date and time after which the video will no longer be viewable, regardless of the privacy setting.
- In the Video Privacy modal, toggle on Video Expiration Date.
- Select the expiration date and time. The timezone shown is your account timezone.
- Click Save.
After the expiration date and time passes, recipients attempting to view the video will see an error and will no longer be able to access it. The video is not deleted — it remains in your Workspace and you can still access and edit it. You can remove the expiration date at any time to restore access.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the privacy setting after I've already shared a video? Yes. You can update privacy settings at any time from the video's edit page. If you change a video from public to password-protected after sharing it, anyone who already has the link will need the password to view it going forward.
What happens if I send a video that's set to private? Only you can view it. Recipients who click the link will see an error message and won't be able to watch the video.
Can I use password protection and an expiration date at the same time? Yes — you can apply both to the same video.
Does changing the privacy setting affect all copies of the link? Yes. The privacy setting applies to the video itself, so any link pointing to that video — share link or email link — will be affected.
What happens to a video after its expiration date? The video becomes inaccessible to viewers. It is not deleted — it stays in your Workspace and you retain full access. Remove the expiration date at any time to restore access for viewers.
