How to Manage AI Features for Your Account (AI Feature Controls)

Overview

AI Feature Controls allow admins to manage how AI-powered functionality is used across their BombBomb account. This includes enabling or disabling AI globally, as well as controlling access to specific features like Video Summaries and Video Labels. These controls are especially important for security-conscious organizations that need visibility and governance over AI behavior.

Who Can Use This Feature

  • Application Admins

How AI Feature Controls Work

AI controls are structured in two levels:

1. Account AI Toggle

  1. Go to Manage Account in the left navigation.
  2. Click the Permissions tab.
  3. Scroll to find AI Features and click it to expand the menu.
  4. The Enable BombBomb AI Features toggle controls whether AI features are available at all within your account:
  • Enabled: AI features can be used, subject to individual feature settings
  • Disabled: All AI features are turned off across the account

Important: Turning off the master toggle prevents access to AI-generated outputs, even if background processing still occurs for certain features (see Video Summaries below).

2. Individual Feature Toggles

Each AI feature can be managed independently, allowing for granular control:

  • Enable specific AI features for use
  • Disable features that are not approved or needed

Key AI Feature Behaviors to Understand

1. Video Summaries (Background Processing Behavior)

Video Summaries are always generated in the background, regardless of toggle settings.

  • When AI is enabled:
    • Summaries are generated and visible to users
  • When AI is disabled (via master toggle or feature toggle):
    • Summaries may still be generated in the background
    • They are not surfaced or accessible to users

Why this matters:
This ensures summaries are immediately available if AI is later enabled, but it also means processing still occurs even when the feature is turned off from a user-facing perspective.

2. Video Labels (One-Time at Upload Behavior)

Video Labels are applied only once at the time of video upload.

  • If Video Labels are enabled at upload:
    • Labels are generated and attached to the video
  • If Video Labels are disabled at upload:
    • No labels are generated
    • Enabling the feature later will not retroactively apply labels to existing videos

Important:
This behavior is permanent per video. To apply labels, the feature must be enabled before or during upload.

Best Practices for Admins

  • Review AI settings before rolling out features to your team
  • Enable features in phases to evaluate impact and adoption
  • Be aware of background processing behavior for compliance discussions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I retroactively apply Video Labels to older videos?
No. Video Labels are only generated at the time of upload.

What happens if I turn off the master AI toggle?
All AI features become inaccessible to users, regardless of individual feature settings.
