How to Install and Use the BombBomb Outlook Add-in

Overview

The BombBomb Outlook Add-in lets you record, insert, send, and track videos directly from Outlook — both the desktop app and the web version. This article covers installation, recording, inserting videos from your library, tracking engagement, and uninstalling the add-in.

Plan requirement: Core, Core + Copilot, Enterprise

Step 1: Install the Add-in

1. Open Outlook (desktop or web).
2. Click Get Add-ins in the toolbar.
3. Search for BombBomb Video Add-in.
4. Click Add and authorize any permissions requested.
5. Once installed, locate the BombBomb icon in your email toolbar.
6. Pin it for easy access.
7. Click the icon and sign in with your BombBomb credentials.

Step 2: Record a Video and Insert It Into an Email

1. Open a new email compose window.
2. Open the BombBomb add-in:

• Standard Outlook: Click Open BombBomb at the top right of the compose window.
• New Outlook on Mac: Click the three horizontal dots at the top of the compose window, then select BombBomb.
• Outlook Web: Click the three dots at the bottom of the compose window, then select BombBomb.

3. A side pane opens on the right. Choose Record Yourself or Record Your Screen.

4. The BombBomb recorder launches in a new browser window:

   • Click the Record icon to begin.
   • Use the Gear icon to switch your camera, microphone, or video size.
   • Use the Screen Recorder icon to share your screen if needed.

   If nothing happens when launching the screen recorder, check for a blocked pop-up in your browser's address bar. First-time screen recording may require a browser permission prompt.

5. When finished, click Stop. Title your video and save it. From here you can:
   • Add a Call-to-Action
   • Re-record if needed
   • Change your thumbnail (note: changing the thumbnail removes the animated preview)
6. Click Insert Video into Outlook to return to your email with the video inserted.
7. To send:
   • Click Send for a standard send, or
   • Click Send + Track from the BombBomb pane to track engagement on this message.

Step 3: Insert a Video from Your Library

1. Open a new email and click Open BombBomb.
2. Click the Video Library tab.
3. Select the video you want to insert and click Insert.

4. Click Send or Send + Track depending on whether you want engagement tracking.

Tracking Your Messages

1. Click Open BombBomb inside Outlook.
2. Navigate to the Tracking tab to see:
   • Sends, Opens, Plays, Comments, Likes, and Link Clicks

3. To filter tracking to only the currently selected email, click Settings at the bottom right and toggle the relevant option.
4. For full engagement details, click View All Engagement to open BombBomb directly.

Logging Out

1. Click Settings at the bottom of the BombBomb pane.
2. Click Sign Out under your email address.

Uninstalling the Add-in

1. Click Get Add-ins in the Outlook toolbar.
2. Select My Add-ins from the left panel.
3. Find BombBomb, click the three horizontal dots, and click Remove.
