BombBomb supports the current and two most recent versions of all major desktop browsers.

Screen Recording
Which screen recorder opens when you click Record Screen depends on your browser:
- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge — the new BombBomb opens the browser screen recorder. It runs right in your browser, with nothing to install.
- Firefox or Safari — Record Screen uses the BombBomb desktop screen recorder app.
In BombBomb Classic, Record Screen uses the desktop app in every browser.

Internet Speed Requirements
A stable internet connection is required for recording and sending videos.

You can check your upload speed by searching "speed test" in Google. Speeds below these minimums may cause encoding issues during recording.
Hardware Requirements
For watching videos
- Processor: Any modern processor with at least two cores
- Memory: 512 MB RAM minimum
For recording videos
- Processor: Intel Core i3 or equivalent AMD processor minimum; Intel Core i5 or higher recommended
- Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum; 8 GB or more recommended, especially when screen recording or multitasking
FAQs
Will BombBomb work on older browser versions? BombBomb may function on older versions, but we recommend staying current for the best performance and access to all features.
Which browser should I use? Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Both offer optimal performance, support the BombBomb browser extension, and let you record your screen in the new BombBomb without installing anything.
Do I need to install anything to record my screen? Not in the new BombBomb on Chrome or Edge. Firefox, Safari and BombBomb Classic use the BombBomb desktop screen recorder app instead.
I'm using Chrome or Edge, but Record Screen opens the desktop app. Why? An ad blocker or privacy extension can stop the browser screen recorder from loading. See Troubleshooting Screen Recorder Issues for the fix.
What if my internet speed is below the minimum? You may experience issues during video recording, particularly encoding errors. If you consistently have speed issues, contact your internet provider or try recording on a different network.
