How to Install and Use the BombBomb Browser Extension (Chrome & Edge)

Overview

The BombBomb Browser Extension lets you record and share videos directly from your browser — without opening the BombBomb web app. The extension is available for both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and works identically in both browsers.

Known Limitations

  • You must be logged in to your BombBomb account to use the extension.
  • You cannot send a video directly from the extension. Videos are shared by copying a link or by using the extension inside Gmail.
  • The "Send with Template" option visible in the extension is for BombBomb Classic users only and is not supported in BombBomb Engage.

Step 1: Install the Extension

Google Chrome

  1. Go to the BombBomb Extension page in the Chrome Web Store.
  1. Click Add to Chrome.
  1. Click Add Extension to confirm.

  1. Verify the extension is installed: 

  • After installation, the BombBomb icon will appear in the top-right corner of your browser.

  • Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions menu) if you don’t see it, then pin the BombBomb extension for easy access.

Make sure the extension is published by BombBomb, Inc. to avoid installing a third-party lookalike.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Go to the BombBomb Extension page in the Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store.
  1. Click Get.
  1. Click Add Extension to confirm.
  1. Once installed, click the Extensions icon (puzzle piece) in your Edge toolbar.

Step 2: Pin the Extension

After installation, pin the extension so it stays visible in your toolbar.

Chrome: Click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar, find BombBomb Video, and click the pin icon next to it.

Edge: Click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar, find BombBomb Video, and click the pin icon next to it.

Once pinned, the BombBomb icon will appear in your browser toolbar.

Step 3: Log In to BombBomb

  1. Click the BombBomb icon in your toolbar.
  1. Log in with your BombBomb account credentials. You can log in with an email and password or via SSO if your organization has it configured.

Step 4: Record Your Video

  1. Click Record to open the recording interface.
  2. Choose your recording type:



  • Record Yourself — records from your webcam
  • Record Screen — records your screen with your camera overlay or without webcam 
  1. If prompted, allow your browser to access your camera and microphone.
  2. Click Start Recording when you are ready.
  3. Click Stop Recording when you are finished.
  4. Preview your video, add a title if needed, and click Save.

Step 5: Share Your Video

Once recorded, you have two options:

 



Click Copy for Email to copy an HTML snippet to your clipboard, that you can paste directly into a mail client, like Gmail, that will include an animated GIF and link to your video.

Click Copy Link to copy a direct link to your video. Paste it into a CRM, LinkedIn message, text message, email, or any other tool.

Note: Send with BombBomb Template is only supported on Classic plans, not Engage plans. Clicking will email the video using BombBomb's email servers with tracking.

FAQs

I don't see the BombBomb icon in my toolbar after installing. The extension may not be pinned. Click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar, find BombBomb Video, and click the pin icon next to it.

My camera or microphone isn't working. Make sure your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone. In Chrome, go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Site Settings → Camera (and Microphone). In Edge, go to Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions → Camera (and Microphone).

I see a "Send with Template" option — can I use it? No. This option is for BombBomb Classic users only. If you are on BombBomb Engage, use Copy for Email, Copy Link, or the Gmail integration to share your videos.

Can I access videos I recorded previously? Yes. All recorded videos are saved to your BombBomb workspace and accessible from both the extension and the BombBomb web app.

Does the Edge extension work the same as Chrome? Yes. The BombBomb Chrome and Edge extensions are functionally identical.
