Using the BombBomb Engage screen recorder is a powerful way to share your screen, walk through presentations, or guide viewers through websites and tools. To ensure your screen recordings are clear, smooth, and professional, here are our top tips for optimizing your experience.
Choose the Right Recording Area
Before you begin recording, you’ll be prompted to select what you want to share:
-
Entire screen – Best for full tutorials or walkthroughs.
-
Window – Ideal if you’re demonstrating something within a single app.
-
Chrome Tab – Recommended when sharing websites or browser-based tools (offers best performance for audio/video sync).
🗣️ Note: If you plan to show video or animations, the Chrome Tab option provides the smoothest playback.
Close Unnecessary Tabs & Apps
Running multiple programs can slow down your system, which may affect the recording quality. To avoid lag or audio issues:
-
Close unused browser tabs.
-
Exit background apps (especially video conferencing or screen-sharing tools).
-
Pause notifications to prevent interruptions during recording.
Check Your Internet Connection
A stable internet connection is key for a smooth recording and upload process.
If possible:
-
Use a wired connection for best stability.
-
Avoid streaming or large downloads while recording.
Use an External Microphone
For the clearest audio:
-
Use a USB microphone or headset if available.
-
If using your computer's built-in mic, record in a quiet space to reduce background noise.
Record in a Clean, Focused Environment
Keep your desktop clean and free from distractions:
-
Close personal windows or files.
-
Use Do Not Disturb mode to mute alerts.
-
Maximize the app or browser window you're recording to make it the visual focus.
Test Before Going Live
It’s always a good idea to do a quick test recording to make sure:
-
Your audio is being picked up clearly.
-
The correct screen/window is being recorded.
-
You’re comfortable with your pacing and flow.
After Recording: Review & Re-record if Needed
Once you’ve recorded:
-
Watch the playback before sending.
-
Check for any technical hiccups or visual clutter.
-
If needed, it’s easy to re-record and get a polished result.
