Overview
Engage lets Application Admins and Team Admins create branding configurations and assign them to users. A user can be assigned either the account branding or branding created for one of their teams.
Branding configurations do not cascade from the account level into teams. Account and team branding are maintained separately, and the configuration assigned to the user determines what appears on their player pages.
Who this applies to: Application Admins, Team Admins, and all users
Plan requirement: Engage
Known Limitations
Users who belong to multiple teams must have a branding configuration manually assigned to them.
Engage does not automatically prioritize one team over another, and there is no primary team or automatic fallback between team branding configurations.
Changes made to account branding do not automatically update an existing team branding configuration.
Who Can Manage Branding
Application Admins can manage account-level branding, manage team-level branding, and assign branding configurations to users.
Team Admins can manage branding for their own teams and assign their team’s branding to eligible users.
Individual users can update their personal profile information and control how enabled branding fields appear on their own Profile Player Page.
How Branding Assignments Work
Each user is assigned one branding configuration.
The assigned configuration can be:
- The account branding
- Branding created for one of the user’s teams
If a user is not assigned team branding, the account branding applies.
If a user belongs to one team, an Application Admin or Team Admin can assign that team’s branding to the user.
If a user belongs to multiple teams, an administrator must select which team’s branding applies. Engage does not automatically select branding based on team membership.
Account and team branding configurations remain separate. Assigning team branding does not change the account branding, and changes made to account branding do not cascade into the team configuration.
What Users Can Edit
Users can update the following personal profile information:
- Profile photo
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Personal LinkedIn profile
The values for the following company and player page settings are determined by the branding configuration assigned to the user:
- Company name
- Company logo
- Company address
- Brand color
- Social media icons
- Video reactions
- Header button
Users may be able to turn an available field on or off for their own Profile Player Page. Their ability to control the field depends on whether the field is enabled and unlocked within their assigned branding configuration.
Users cannot change the company information or branding value itself.
Enabled, Disabled, and Locked Fields
Branding settings determine which controls are available on a user’s Profile Player Page.
Enabled Fields
When a field is enabled and unlocked, the user can control whether it appears on their Profile Player Page.
For example, a user may be able to turn an enabled social media section or header button on or off.
Disabled Fields
When a field is disabled in the assigned branding configuration, the corresponding control is unavailable to the user.
Locked Fields
When a field is locked, the user sees a lock icon and cannot change that setting on their Profile Player Page.
Locks only apply to users assigned to that branding configuration. An account-level lock does not lock or modify the same setting within a separate team branding configuration.
Similarly, a lock within one team’s branding does not affect the account branding or another team’s branding.
Grouped Settings
Some settings are managed as a group.
For example, locking Social Icons locks the group for the user. An administrator can still choose which individual icons are shown as part of the assigned branding configuration.
Assigning Branding to Users
A user’s player page branding is based on the configuration selected by an Application Admin or Team Admin.
Application Admins can assign account branding or an eligible team’s branding.
Team Admins can assign branding for the teams they administer.
When a user belongs to multiple teams, the administrator must manually choose which team’s branding should be assigned. Team membership alone does not determine which branding appears.
Confirmation Messages
A confirmation dialog appears when an administrator changes a user’s branding assignment.
The message explains that the user’s current branding assignment will be replaced by the newly selected configuration.
After the change is confirmed, the new branding assignment takes effect immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which branding is used if a user belongs to multiple teams?
The branding configuration selected by an Application Admin or Team Admin. Engage does not automatically choose a team or designate a primary team.
What happens if team branding is not assigned?
The user receives the account branding.
Do changes to account branding update team branding?
No. Account and team branding configurations are maintained separately. Changes made to the account configuration do not cascade into an existing team configuration.
What does locking a field do?
Locking a field prevents users assigned to that branding configuration from changing the related setting on their Profile Player Page. The user sees a lock icon next to the setting.
Does an account-level lock affect team branding?
No. An account-level lock applies only to users assigned the account branding. Team Admins and Application Admins can separately configure that setting within a team’s branding.
Can users turn company branding fields on or off?
Users may be able to turn an enabled and unlocked field on or off for their own Profile Player Page. They cannot change the company information or branding value provided by the assigned account or team configuration.
What branding information can individual users change?
Users can update their profile photo, name, email address, phone number, and personal LinkedIn profile. Company information and brand values are determined by their assigned account or team branding.
Why did I receive a confirmation message?
A confirmation message appears when a user’s branding assignment is being changed. Confirming the change replaces the user’s current assignment with the newly selected branding configuration.
