What types of devices can I use to record a video?
You can record using your desktop or laptop webcam, a mobile phone camera, or upload a pre-recorded video. BombBomb works across most modern browsers and devices.
My webcam isn't being detected — what should I do?
Start by confirming your webcam is plugged in and working — test it in your device's built-in camera app first. If it's detected there but not in BombBomb, check that your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone under your browser's Privacy & Security settings. You can also switch cameras directly in the BombBomb recorder by clicking the gear icon in the recorder and selecting a different camera from the Camera dropdown. Restarting your browser or computer often resolves detection issues as well.
Can I record videos offline?
BombBomb requires an internet connection to record and save videos. However, you can record a video outside of BombBomb using your device's camera app and upload it when you have a stable connection. Supported upload formats are: .mp4, .m4v, .mov, .mkv, .mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .wmv, .flv

How do I make my videos feel authentic?
The most effective videos are the ones that feel personal — not scripted. Smile, look directly at the camera lens, and talk like you're leaving a voicemail for someone you know. Use your recipient's name, mention something specific to them, and keep it under 60 seconds when possible. Your voice, your tone, and your face are what make video irreplaceable — don't overthink it.
Are there limits to how many videos I can send?
No. All plans include unlimited video sending.
Can I use BombBomb to create screen recordings?
Yes — BombBomb's screen recorder lets you record your screen along with your webcam feed for walkthroughs, demos, and tutorials. See Troubleshooting Screen Recorder Issues if you need help getting it set up.
Security & Privacy
Are my videos secure?
Yes. BombBomb stores all videos securely using encryption and privacy best practices. You can also control access to individual videos — see below.
Who can view my videos?
By default, anyone with the video link can view your content. To change this, open any video in your Workspace, and click the edit icon next to Privacy on the right side of the page. You can set the video to one of three options:
- Anyone with the link can view this video — the default
- Only the video creator can view this video — makes the video private to you only
- Only those with the password can view this video — generates a password that viewers must enter to watch
You can also set a Video Expiration Date — after that date and time, the video will no longer be viewable.

What do I do if my video won't upload or play?

How do I update my profile?
Click your name and profile picture in the bottom-left corner of the screen, then click Profile. From there you can update your name, photo, contact details, LinkedIn URL, notification preferences, and more.
