How to Use Effects

Overview

BombBomb's Effects panel lets you adjust your appearance and set a virtual background before you start recording. Use it to look polished on camera without needing perfect lighting or a tidy background.

How to Open the Effects Panel

  1. Click Create Video in the left-hand navigation to open the recorder.
  2. In the lower-right corner of the recorder, click Effects (the wand icon).
  1. The Effects panel will open to the right of the recorder.

Appearance Settings

Click the Appearance section to expand it. You'll find four sliders:

  • Touch Up Appearance — softens your appearance on camera.
  • Color Balance — adjusts the warmth or coolness of your video.
  • Brightness — increases or decreases the overall brightness of your camera feed.
  • Smart Zoom — automatically adjusts the zoom to keep you centered in the frame.

Use the sliders to dial in your preferred settings. Changes apply in real time so you can preview them before recording.

Background Settings

Click the Background section to expand it. You'll find the following options:

  • None — your real background, no changes applied.
  • Blur — blurs your background to keep the focus on you.
  • Virtual Backgrounds — a library of preset background images you can select. Click any background to apply it instantly.

Note: Virtual backgrounds work best in environments with good lighting and a clear contrast between you and your background.
